How it works

Three checks before the application.

Confirm who needs the course.

Applicants for used-vehicle or wholesale-only dealer licenses may need an approved pre-licensing program. Confirm which applicant or qualifying owner or manager must complete it.

Complete the documented plan.

The documented classroom pre-licensing plan is six instructional hours and is associated with CCC0065. Bring a current California driver license or identification card; it is required for admission.

Use the applicable form.

After successful completion and the required identity and program checks, the applicable completion certificate can be issued on the current official form. DMV decides whether the full application qualifies.

Real questions

Answers before you pay.

Is this the course I need to get licensed?

Applicants for used-vehicle or wholesale-only dealer licenses may need an approved education program. The documented Top Notch Motors classroom pre-licensing plan is six hours and associated with CCC0065; confirm who must complete it and current availability before enrollment.

What do I need to bring?

A current California driver license or ID card. It’s required for admission — without it, no provider is allowed to issue your certificate.

What happens after the course?

After successful completion and the required identity and program checks, the applicable completion certificate can be issued on the current official form. It is one application requirement; DMV decides whether the full application qualifies.

Do you help beyond the class?

Yes — call or text and a real person answers with specifics. We’re an independent, privately owned, DMV-listed education provider — not a government agency. Every certificate we issue carries Course Curriculum Certificate CCC0065 and is issued on the current official DMV form.

Are you part of the DMV?

No. The provider is independent and privately owned. The current DMV provider roster lists Top Notch Motors, but the provider is not a government agency and does not speak for one.
